Matthew is the gateway to the New Testament with the strongest of closing connections to the Old Testament.   Matthew explains in “mini-Bible” form God’s entire plan of the ages from Genesis to Revelation.  To misunderstand the Messiah as presented in Matthew is to misunderstand much of the plan of God as it unfolds in the New Testament.  The Gospel of Matthew is all about Jesus Christ, the kind of man you want to save the world.
